I just read the compliance plate . HG43 so centre diff is HG and ratio is 43.
So I would assume 4.3 ratio was never changed to 3.9.

Im happy. Abit of thinking and troubleshooting why my fuel economy is about 1.5 to 2 litres more than it should.

Nothing wrong at all. Just need to improvise by change to larger tyres.

    Now next question.

-Will 35 inch tyres rub with 2 inch lift?
    - Can I go 33 inch or 35 inch on stock GU allow wheels with its offset?
-Steel rims feel heaps heavier but do they cause more fuel consumption negating my larger tyre idea or are they okay?

Mine on 33's, 4.11's at 100clicks Im on 2450rpm. Fuel usage, I'm not sure. Haven't really worried about taking note. Its a 3T 4wd. Fuel consumption wont be great in any way. From my observations over the years, 16.5lph seems to be the norm for a TD42.

Cheers Mudski. If what you say is true 16.5 or so is the norm then I wont be too fussed.
It was still better than my prado 120 v6 at around 17.5 to 18 and that was babying it. The td42ti you can give it a spirited drive quite abit and it doesnt seem to change much.

Ok, so yours is NA and mine is ic turbo. Still doing same revs at 100 but i'm using 3- 4 lb boost. Mine is a ute, reasonable to expect similar figures unloaded?

I've never seen that fuel usage on road.
The worst I got was 15lph on my big tune, 12.4lph at 200rwhp and 10.8 at 120rwhp, 11.8 NA
The worst consumption was all related to the pump setup. It had huge amounts of off boost fuel, last time I put it on a bench I reduced the offboost fuel by about 45%
Never got a chance to test it properly though general obsevation showed an improvement, but no figures to validate.
