Also talking fuel he said BP was the best diesel on sale now, I had been using Caltex. He recommended BP as it had additives that are beneficial and we have had a marked improvement in fuel economy.
We recently bought Shell, our last 2 tanks full fuel economy went from 15.54 (BP) to 22.66 Litres per 100 Kilometers (all highway), and we blew clouds of black smoke even at idle. So what had they added? We assume it was that servo only, be bad for Shell if that fuel was at all their outlets.
That other product was Diesel Power - Diesel Fuel Additive, got it at SuperCheap Autos.
Macca, BP used to put a catalyst in with the diesel to improve total burn. This is like a brew of sub micron particles that get very hot under compression and essentially increase the combustion process. i used to add a similar product to my fuel that i was sourcing from Shell, however the name escapes my memory right now. This additive was very expensive and you only needed a very small quantity/liter, again can't remember the ratio. The manufacturer of this additive told me that BP add it to their diesel as a standard - but that was 15 years ago - maybe they still do? I also use Diesel Power.

Haven't found a diesel mechanic yet who endorses 2 stroke, and I keep asking.
BUT if you are happy that is what's important, this is just my "research" and its not backed up by any proof.
Edit: I have tried the 2 stroke in 2 vehicles and many litres, at 5 cents a litre extra I started asking questions as I couldn't sense any "improvement".
I have had it verbally confirmed by a representative of the bailey diesel group. They hosted an industry talk that myself and a bunch of other mechanics/fitters went to. He compared the effects of 2 stroke to the dlc coating (diamond like coating) they use on newer injectors. It basically wont effect performance but is good for injectors from wear/maintenance point of view. The talk was mostly focused around the newer crd stuff.
The lowering of sulphur levels in newer diesel is the issue. The 2t and atf will have a sulphur content in them helping with lubrication.

I ve been using T2 at 200:1 in the 6.5 Chev - definitely starts quieter and doesn't blow as much smoke at less than 2c per litre of diesel I think its worth while.

PBBIZ2 & Nissannewby thanks for the reply's, good info about the fuel and what's in it or has been removed.
I would like to catch up with the local specialist as he has helped me with advice which worked.
He is a real gentleman but has suffered from Shingles over the Christmas break so I've left him alone.
If he is better it would be good to have a yarn with him again.
@peterc99, where and or how much do you have to buy to get 2T at $4.00 a litre?
Is it the same product as TD posted and this?

Retail at SCA is going to be 7.49 cents per litre dosage if using 200:1
Cheers

That is the exact one I have been buying from SCA too. Would love to know where to get bulk as well.
From memory @Cuppa also gets it in larger quantities? Shed some light on this Mr. Cuppa?

Through the magic of the WWW my computer put up an add from SCA for 4 litres of 2T, this works out at 5.125 cents per litre a bit better than buying single litre bottles.

Hi Macca a calculation error (must be the heat affecting the brain computer or a couple of beers) should have been 4c per litre.

I bought 2 x 4 litres when it was on special at Repco, but due to the low mileage I’ve been putting on the vehicle it’s lasted me a long time. Can’t recall what I paid, but it was a good price. Almost out of it now so need to start keeping an eyeout for another special. Happy to use any brand so long as it’s mineral based if it’s cheaper than the Castrol Activ 2T I’ve been using.

Ive only just started using 2t in my fuel. About three tanks so far and haven't noticed any change. Whether it matters on what/ where you buy your fuel or if it just a placebo im not sure and sold on it yet. Ill do the 4ltrs worth and then not run it and see.

It wont get rid of rattle that is induced by timing. Timing rattle will be louder than most things and you wont hear the difference like the guys here are stating with standard setups.
