Poor mum has been in hospital for a few days with influenza and with her chronic asthma it got pretty bad.
5am this morning she had bad chest pains and heart racing.
After some tests today it was found she has blood clotting and the heart wasn't pumping blood properly, pooling, etc.
The doctors say it was only a matter of time until a stroke and if it wasn't for the flu for her to come in we wouldn't have ever known!!!
Apparently she has been like this for years and has always been short of breath but put it down to her asthma but she was wrong.
How lucky are we, the flu has saved mums life, happy days!!!
Yeah wow. Thats like my mum. She had to have open heart surgery as a dentist, yes a dentist diagnosed her with the same heart condition that what killed John Ilhan, the Crazy Johns bloke. Aparently my mum had extra bleeding from her gums than usual after getting a tooth pulled. The dentist knew this was not normal and told my mum to go to the quacks asap. Two days later she was under the knife.

On the up & up as of tomorrow thanks Plassy :-)
Blood thinners for life first thing tomorrow which is a very small price to pay, her Mum (Nana) stroked out of the game almost exactly 12 months ahead of today.
Laughter is her best medicine for now, she's trying to absorb the positive news of dodging a nasty bullet, Box Hill rocks !!

Box hill actually ships all over Austin. If you need to take someone to hospital knowing they'll be there for a while then for a public hospital hands down the best in Melbourne.

Haha! Try the Northern then. You'd rather go to the local vet than this place.

Do they feed 90-year-old sick, weak ladies food they know they're allergic to as well? And have disgustingly dirty toilets? And have the rudest doctors you've ever seen? Well done Northern sounds like a close comp!!
What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal??

Great to hear your mums OK, but I do worry about you two.
So how did the DIY prostate exam go?
Cheers
