    GU 4.2 Wagon manual gearbox.

    G'Day all,
How many litres of oil does the gearbox take ?
What oil would you recommend ?
    Cheers,
    Tonks.

Straight from original Nissan hand book that came with my 2006 4.2TDi
    Gearbox API GL4 SAE 75w85. Gearbox 3.5lt

The Haynes workshop manual advises SAE 75w90 API GL4

I am using Fuchs oils for everything now (new local dealer with good price) but was using Penrite with no problems but was expensive.

I ended up putting in Castrol VMX80, very smooth gear changes now.

My gen manual recommends API GL4 75-90w only.
the only is actually written in there, not my input.

Manual was released with the 02 model & printed in 2001.

personally I'd stick with the higher W given todays pushing 40c

Exactly what I filled my cog box with. Unsure what was in it prior, but it's very smooth after that.
