Need some suggestions on springs please.

What experience have you guys had good or bad with different brands. Tough dog, Dobinsons, EFS, OMG, KIng springs Pedders....

I currently have 2" flexie coils matched with 4" shocks and I'm happy with this set up, but I can't find anyone that makes them now.

Definitely want to stay at 2" lift.

    G’day John Mate
Bang for buck, I’ve been very happy with Dobinsons coils 4 corners for about 5ish + maybe 10 years now across GU’s & Q’s, maybe a baby Maverick too
Up front honestly though, far from a suspension expert I am but have replaced some of the originally bought ‘variable rate’ versions/variants with ‘constant rate’ near equivalents.
Reason being, I personally nuffy found that the variables (although greater load listed) than constant equivalents of lesser ratings listed sagged after a lot less after true variable alternating punishment if that makes sense

We'll today didn't go as planned. Was meant to be a straight in and out with the new springs and fit up the new sway bar links.

Swapped out the old springs, and discovered that 3 out of 4 shocks have no return in them. I checked them all when I started having the lean issue and all were fine. Anyway the old suspension set up is 7 years old and around 150,000 km , so probably over due, shocks are 41mm tough dog foam cell,

Recommendations, stay with tough dog (which I've been happy with) or go with something else..

Bang for buck proclaiming again John Mate, Dobinsons now have 3 levels/range of coin shock
Original, twin tubes which have always (last decade) served me cost wise happily very well & their remote reservoir full tilt more expensive performance variants unfortunately out of reach. Worth checking out their middle of the range/performance IMS shocks:

Well I was hoping on possibly being the first GU on club reg, still might happen only taking a bit longer than expected..

Being buying up the last few weeks and today was patrol day.

New Springs and shocks (took @MB advice) and rear brake pads. Steering wheel and radio surround was a good score at the local wreckers.

Old tough dog foam cell did around 150,000 km in 7-8 years and now have no return. Replacing the 25 year steering with one with no rips and I reckon the best score was the radio surround with only 2 little screw holes and nothing else, never seen one without and antenna switch.

Question on the sway bar links..

You can see that once I cut the thread to size it won't line up straight to the bar, if I force it, it will have a lot of pressure against it. What am I missing here.

Can't wait to get this thing back on the road..

The rod will pivot in the rubbers, my front and rear sway bars were the same, not a lot of accuracy intended.

John, did you take the car into their workshop and get them to weigh it, each corner before selecting the springs? Did they fit the springs or you? I had them do the lot to ensure the right 'numbers' went into the spring selector and ensure it was sitting flat after the job. I have dobbo springs and like them and their service. I use the Dandenong workshop.

No, I didn't know that they offered that service. I ordered the springs through road runner and discovered the shocks were no good a couple of weeks later and ordered the IMS with road runner again.

Would have done the same if I knew..
