'90 GQ front hub reassembly procedure

    Hi Guys,

I would love a some advise about getting the hub reassembled to the shaft. It disassembled perfect but getting the rear wheel bearing back to fit the shaft carrying the whole assembly is more than interesting. Manuals etc say the reverse of the strip. It stripped perfect but some hints or guide would be appreciated. I have had this '90 SWB petrol since new. Its been off the road since Dec 2004 and I have done this work many times in years gone by. Now I am weary as I feel like I miss or forget something. Help please

    Hi HiGQ Frank
You need to clarify your problem.
The thread title refers to front hub reassembly, your narrative refers to rear wheel bearing.
    Which is it?

    Cheers Trevor

Hi Trevor, re read the thing and understand what you mean. It is the front end I work on and the reference was to the rear bearing in the front hub. Next time I will read again and listen to what is written rather than what I think I wrote. Today I had a second go and was a little more aggressive. I got the hub back in place. It is the weight of the thing and keeping it straight. I tapped the bearing on by itself first and it went on sort of ok and came off without a puller. That was when I reassembled and tried again. Thanks for the response Trevor. I truly appreciate it. Frank
