    Fitting EGT guage???

I have no idea what's involved, but I do understand the importance of monitoring EGTs, so what's involved in fitting an EGT guage?

Is it a drawn out & difficult process or is it quite simple??

Thanks for any help & advice.

Getting the thermocouple fitting welded to the dump pipe is probably the most hassle, the rest is easy peasy
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

Does the dump pipe get removed for that or can it be done in place?

If your about to change your exhaust to something bigger [3"]
buy the bigger dump pipe as well, it may have the bung already welded on.
The heat shield is a Bugger to get off so lots of spraying CRC or similar,
as ET suggested take it to an exhaust place they can skin their knuckles lol

From memory I think their are some that only require a hole and the thermocouple
is held in place with with a hose clamp, buts thats only till you can do it properly

The other option is to drill and tap a thread in the dump rather than welding a bung either way its going be easier with it off the vehicle. If you do it yourself be prepared for lots of cursing and perhaps some snapped studs if your unlucky.

The other "other" option which some don't like is to just drill a hole and attach a pyro fitting that has the ceramic washer and clamp style like the Autometer ones.

Not ideal (much better to run a bung on the dump pipe) but I ran one for years with no issues.
