Powerful 4x4 rear wheel carrier / bar
Wondering if anyone has any experience or heard anything about Powerful 4x4's rear bar / wheel carrier for the GU?
I know you get what you pay for, but currently it's half the price of many other name brand bars.
My main concern is it may not fit up properly and I'd have to butcher it to fit & it would end up looking crap when fitted.
I can weld and cut & grind to fix any tears or splits that may occur, add gussets & plates over time to fix what may happen over time so I'm not worried about that sort of problem.
I'm mostly concerned that it just fits up first go.
Thanks for any info.

Luck of the draw maybe with these. I've heard nothing but bad about them. Not fitting up right, missing parts etc etc.
I am also looking around for a rear bar, as my rear bumper can only have so many cable ties holding it together, and I have made the conclusion that I will just have to bight the bullet and spend the coin on something decent.

Yeah I hear you, I've read about them not fitting as well as fitting, I reckon I'd believe the folks who say they fit more than the ones who say they don't. It may be skill related, temper related, time related, unrealistic expectations I don't know.
Fitting can be fixed. I've not seen or read anywhere about them rattling themselves to pieces on tracks or welds cracking or sheet tearing though, that's the bad stuff IMHO.
I don't know either mate. I know you get what you pay for, but all the 'name' brands are around $3000 with 2 wheel carriers, whereas these are around $1500 with 2 carriers. If you spend $500 fixing one you're still $1000 ahead. When you consider that and that they don't look too bad, maybe that's enough to help with the thought process?????

Yeah 3k is a lot of money for a rear bar. Hence me holding off so much, it’s a hard pill to swallow. I am also looking for a branded second hand bar too.

Whilst not GU related, Dad bought a powerful 4x4 rear bar around 3 years ago for his 105 cruiser and was bitterly disappointed... it didn’t fit properly at all, mounting holes in wrong spots, ill fitting bar that he was advised by customer service to pack it out with washers etc etc he ended up demanding a refund, and to their credit they had him one. Whilst to some these things maybe minor, when your spending $2k on a brand new bar you expect it to fit your vehicle properly
He also bought some rock sliders from them too, which rusted from the inside out!! Got a refund for these as well in the long run.
Hope for your sake their manufacturing quality and QA checks have improved over the years
