    2nd Catch Can?

A bloke I know has his Provent 200 venting to air.

This guy has seen how much gunk still comes out of the CC even with regular cleaning of the filter and draining. The other day he came out and noticed a small pool of oil on the shed floor which had come from the outlet (not the drain plug) of the CC.

He's thinking of fitting a 2nd CC, maybe a Provent 100 or copy and plumbing the output of that back into the intake as it should be.

Would there be any issues with putting a 2nd CC in line that anyone can think of??

Why is he venting the CC into the atmosphere? Apart from being illegal, well having a CC is illegal, but its messy (as he's just noticed) and its not hard to plumb it back to the motor.
His motor must be a heavy breather or he's using one of those washable stainless steel filters as they catch pretty much nothing. The only issues I can see from fitting a second can is lack of room to do it, and flow restriction. The added second can might restrict the crank case ventilation flow and not work effectively. Might...

Thanks Mark, I'll let him know.

How do you plumb it back into the motor? Is there much work involved in doing that?

NO!! Definitely NOT illegal to have a catch can correctly fitted - as long as it is closed and not vented/drained to atmosphere. I checked with Qld Transport (TMR).
And it does not mess with any vehicle warranty either, although I understand some dealers have tried to play that card.

It is in Vic. I had to remove my CC when I had the Patrol engineered. Well it was when that happened 2 years ago...
