    thanks taslucas,
I really don't think it is missing its running really smooth and I pulled the leads off and its starts missing with each of them, iv been reading a lot on this and its looking like it might be a faulty ignitor its happened to afew ppl and they go chasing other problems when its was a faulty ignitor from the box I will have a look at the manual and see if I can find any thing before I pull the ignitor out

Yeah that's what happened to me, I chased other problems thinking it couldn't be the ignitor module but in the end it was.
Pm me your email and I'll send you the manual etc in pdf. I was the one to upload it to this site.
It might take a while as I have a bit of computer issue at the moment lol

Hi every one i got a 91 mav 4.2 carby a few weeks ago . it had a pertronix LS model with the 3ohm flamethrower coil.installed by the the guy i bought it off, the tacho was jumping around 12 hundred revs on idle it was back firing and hard to start when hot also had a flat spot and rough idle. i gave the carby a clean + checked floatlevel ect .then i found the coil was getting too hot, put in a new bosch coil with ballast resistor. so far all problems have gone and tacho is perfect.cheers

Hi mate, I uploaded a couple of manuals to help trouble shoot the Pertronix. Hopefully there may be something in there to help http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...ad.php?t=18318
