I have the stock Nissan bottle jack and that has worked for me in the past, but how will it go on the sand? I also carry a timber foot plate probably about 200x200x50.

I had an exhaust jack years ago. It was great, easy to use and safe. It hit the exhaust pipe one day and got a hole in it, so that's one issue. Other issue was it tended to become dirty from exhaust gas, which is pretty yucky stuff. But it always worked great, gave plenty of height and always felt safe.

I just have the standard patrol jack and a block of wood, like MB now. If I need to go higher, I use more wood.

After camp 16, are you folks going via Adria Downs (with permission of course) or via the Hay River Track? And why that choice please?

So we loaded up for a quick overnight get away / shake down..
Fully loaded we were 3.3T... fk.
Probably 70kg of crap will go out, firewood, dog and stuff.
But need to add 20L of fuel, bigger fridge and more food / tools.
So all in all I think I'll be bang on GVM, if not just a touch over

Highly recommended to me and passing on here these Nitto style 3 stage quick connect versions:

Relatively easy to extend/shorten or remove on the run when needed due to higher driving speeds or dune peak heights

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
