As a commonly available oil, I reckon it would now be my 2nd choice if I couldn't get the Penrite for my 4.2 any time.

Did use to use a Magnatec oil (can't recall grade) in my wife's little petrol Mitsubishi Mirage buzz bomb. 10,000km changes & the oil used to come out almost as clean as it went in, but the inside of the rocker box always looked clean .... as did the sump when removed after she took it up a neigbours rocky & washed driveway & holed it. Dfference between diesel & petrol I guess.

In our old bus, Nissan ED33 motor (4 cyinder 3.3 litre non turbo diesel) with both the original motor & later the replacement motor, any oil turned black as soon as the engine started & oil had been circulated.

Sorry for my late reply, I kept getting error messages when I replied.
    Thanks for all your input,
I'm thinking if your oil is staying cleaner for longer its doing a good job sealing your oil rings, less blow by.
lots of people here seem to use the Penrite so I might give that a go,
    Thanks
