Didn’t have an electric brake controller installed in my current Patrol, just tow bar and trailer plug from the dealer.
Recently needed to tow a large trailer and phoned around auto elecs for brake controller install quotes. None of ‘em work Saturdays (one thing we have in common, but there lies my problem).
Then I come across this. https://www.elecbrakes.com/product/e...SABEgKK9_D_BwE
Bought the unit, downloaded the app, synced it and towed home as happy as Larry it performed as good as anything hard wired.
Bloody wrapt with this unit and its portable car to car.

What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal??

Going a bit different in this tub build. Instead of the run of the mill switches I decided to step it up a bit.
Sorta works out the same as its 8 switches, a fuse block, cabling, circuit breaker all in 1.
Ill do a write up on it as its a cool pit of kit..
Best part is the Bluetooth connection to the controller from the mobile..

Today, I bought not just a brake controller, but a revolution in towing technology. Instead of opting for the conventional hardwired brake controller installation, I stumbled upon an innovative solution: the Elecbrakes portable brake controller. With its seamless integration via an app and its performance matching that of hardwired systems, I'm thrilled with its versatility and ease of use. No more waiting for Saturdays or dealing with intricate installations. This purchase has truly transformed my towing experience.

In all honesty, what is that? Looks like a sunglass box to me.

It increases the air pressure inside and helps keep dust out. Work OK at a bit of speed provided they are fitted with the opening facing the front (my offroad caravan had it the wrong way around).
Pretty much useless at low speed, especially when trying to overtake loaded road trains on the Odnadatta Track.
