Does it just blow randomly when the head lights are on? or something else is turned on? Is the fuse big enough?

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Yes it blows randomly, during the day you really don't know it's blown.
At night obviously is noticed straight away.
As dash lights go.
Has happened once at night when indicating. But hasn't happened since when indicating.
We also tested the circuit with everything on and only tested 3 amps.

OK if it blows during the day then it is Not the Parker Light circuit and more likely a dead short mate. Insulation worn through would be my guess.

Yep my thoughts exactly...... hood place to look is at the main lot of wires that come through the drivers side bulkhead

I haven't confirmed if it has blown during times of not have headlights on.
But yes I suspect worn wiring somewhere.

Patrol God
Something rings a bell about the hazzard lights when towing will blow fuses
to way to solve it was to up the fuse rating buy 5 amps
I think the loom runs along the top of the chassis near the left rear wheel arch.
Good articulation will see the loom rubbed through, worth a look imo.
Or pinched by the body work
