Dictator Dan locking us up again but also stopping construction. We have scaffolding around our house since last Monday and nothing happened since, due to a death in the builders family, but spoke with him Saturday he had all trades booked to come in the whole week, brickies, sparkie, plumber and roof tilers and now none are coming.
This Carnt is cooked. Fucking over him big time!!!!

But the Tennis is still on at least!!

Unfortunately it’s a global pandemic and it looks like the more virulent strain has arrived in Australia. We need to stop returned travellers being quarantined in cities, every state has had an outbreak from hotel quarantine.
We’ve got Christmas Island detention centre sitting practically empty but costing millions of dollars to maintain and run. It’s time the federal government took control of quarantine and stop pushing it to the states. They control all overseas travel and other quarantine but are to gutless to make a tough decision in case it affects their popularity. Now is a time for strong leadership.
Sorry guys but a delay with a renovation is a small price to pay when people are dying, just have a look how bloody lucky we are to live here.
    Cheers
    Jack

    Agree with Jack.

'Dictator Dan' rolls off the tongue more easily than 'Strong Dan'.

I can understand the frustration behind it though, this pandemic is a bastard!

I'm with you Jack. Scott is fairly quick to criticise WA their tough stance but their state is doing pretty well. I have nothing but praise for the pollies that are happy to stand up and do what is the best thing to do, not what is in people's personal best interests. I know that may not be popular opinion and it affects people in rural zones but in the long run I think it's the right thing to do.

You have a tough debate to convince me that a human life runs second in importance to anything else.

The old saying always seem to be true, an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.

    Couldn't disagree more.
As punishment for my sins I live in Mark the Messiahs' electorate and he is a shit local member who has overseen WA's massive unemployment pre Covid, a tripling of Ambulance ramping and recently locked down 2.5 million people for no, thats right ZERO, community transmissions after 1 positive UK strain test for a worker.
The positive case didn't even infect anyone his own household.
    The reason for the lockdown?
Our tracking is shit, even worse than Vic's... the QR code/sign in was only made compulsory for all businesses last week.
His inane Border restrictions are driven solely to artificially lower the unemployment rate by discouraging interstate FIFO and other workers.

IMHO if you want the so called Gold Standard of "Rona Sanity" it is NSW first and daylight second, the other states and territories (Lib and Labor) are too caught up in their own pissing contests
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

Gladys might be a sneaky root rat (good on her) but she seems to have level-headed reactions to this crisis which seem to work pretty well without locking small businesses down unnecessarily. Government gotta realise yes they're responsible for public health but they're also responsible for public mental health (in crisis) and the state's income (in crisis). Some Premiers don't worry about the economy though. We have AAA credit ratings so they just borrow their way through to keep the public image high and grand. Just like a problem gambler. All's good while the successful facade stands. When it crumbles, well all of a sudden we're that far deep in the pit we lose our credit rating, nobody will lend money, they'll ask higher interest rates and we're in the shit again and need to sell up big. Politics is an interesting game. We actually need both sides just like Yin/Yang. One mob spends money like a drunken sailor to provide the services and infrastructure the public want. The other mob has to be rational, level-headed and less grandiose to build the economy back up to pay for it. And around and around it goes to have this level of living. It actually works well overall, but we all rant and rave during the cycle. It all levels out at the end of the day if there's a good quality opposition. Unfortunately the Vic opposition is a lost cause and hasn't got the influence to keep the current government in check.
