    Happy Days Trav_1980 mate!
I’m assuming it’s a TD42 renowned for that third mongrel long bolt sometimes shearing off inside?
Either way, best to get some anti-seize goop on their threads for next time and or nuffy me rushed air compress that coolant water lingering outa the threads and use your dipstick oil to prime them holes again maybe mate?

I guess this should go in the happy thread???

Heard a loud bang last night and water gushing outside.

The clamp failed on the house pump and I guess it made me happy that I was home thank god otherwise the entire tank would’ve drained under the house.

Had a job on site to execute today requiring a bulldozer and pushing some roads into a new worksite. Gnarly crappy country and dry/dusty/snake ridden etc. Got the most accommodating operator and skills beyond my comprehension, smashed the job and delivered a solution that exceeds what was needed or expected. last time I will look at a dozer driver as just a dirt shifter - total eye opener and demonstration of machinery capability.

    Going through some old photos.
Here's a redneck drive shaft I built for my crazy lifted '84 Lux ...

    PIC00116.JPG

It ended up destroying itself, too heavy. Got a few thousand k's out of it though.

That's insane! Did it do any damage when it failed?

Nup, it just got real sloppy, the uni's were flogged.
It was as heavy as crap, 3mm walls.
The Lux had rear springs up front and flexed like an idiot.
Did everything on the cheap, it was great up the high country.
    Welded rear diff.
    No expense spared.
