    Blue over for me. But I did (and still do) like the early 80s flare paint jobs. Don't see them around any more though.

    You can pick up a Tb42 petrol cheap if you look for a few months - I paid $2.5k for the blue and silver and it has run without issue (I’ve kept it well maintained) - I just use it for beach drives and camping so no big water crossings or mud holes etc and for the money I reckon petrols the go. If td42s were reasonably priced I’d prob go deisel but I couldn’t justify the TD tax

    The old MQs are pretty old school! The thing I like about the GQs are that once you’ve sound deadened they are almost as nice as a modern fourby só I never feel like I’m driving around in an old rig

    You would be Mad to paint Over rust. Especially if yoy are paying someone to paint. A decent shop would Never paint over rust. Cut it out and repair everything before paint.
    Its a Nissan! =====> Its a Keeper!! ....... Got a TD42 in it BONUS!! ....... I'm a lucky bugger! I've got 2 of em!

    The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

    I've never heard before that someone could paint over rust. I remember that my father always told me: "always, always get rid of rust before doing something with your car". If you have found such services so they must return your money and pay you for their job on themselves because it is an awful performance.
