If it is I am going to do some surgery/radius the plate I think as these are too expensive to go tearing apart!! Thanks Ben, Bidja and MB!
It would be a good idea to find a flex ramp or a fork lift to flex it up and look for and contact. Ideally a hoist and remove the the springs and cycle the suspensions full range of motion and be able to watch it. To me it lt looks like the shock is contacting in 2 different places. The stone guard and right at the base. 2 different points of contact at 2 different points in the suspension travel. (How I see it anyway)

Ben I think your observations are really good. I am a bit mystified about the bottom ding though, so will have a closer look and see if i can find the witness marks.

It'll be the same spot judging by the orientation of those marks, my guess is at full extention, when Installing big bore shocks you cut away the back of the bump stop pad which has been replaced by the airbags mount to clear the bigger bore shocks
Remember that when articulating, at full droop on that side, the lower control arm is swinging down and forward towards the front axle. The upper control arm is doing the same, but because it's shorter it is rotating the diff therefore the pinion downwards. At the same time the panhard rod is swinging down and pulling the diff towards the drivers side because it moves on a perpendicular axis. That's why when stuff has been hitting and is inspected at ride height, the marks dont seem to make sense

This is what I love about this forum, clear knowledgeable feedback, really had no idea what was going on, no enlightened. Thank You.

Confirm interference points first, then knock the corners off the brackets. Monitor from there. I dont have access to a set of super ramps or a forklift, and think since this is the first time its happened since june 1997, I might have some time up my sleeve.

Well, witness marks on the bracket, so airbag has to come out and surgery to the baseplate. Interestingly there is half the clearance on the passenger side to the drivers - diff off center, adjustable panhards req? Damaged shock is rooted, won't compress by hand.

Lift more than 2", would say adjustable panhards would be needed to bring diff back to center. Would look at F/R.

    That shock took a hiding.

Where do mean clearance? Also note that the shock mounts aren't symmetrical from factory. Look at then in relation to the hub on each side
