    after market stereo/dvd player

Hey there, just recently purchased the above item.Fitting it all went well but the dvd player won't work. Think i need to put it in ''park'' but i drive a manual, so that is impossible. Is there a way around this problem?

A lot of new units have a wire that goes to the hand brake. If hand brake isnt engaged , it wont let you do many functions including watching a DVD.
I'm not sure on other units, but I just grounded my wire on my Kenwood unit all is sweet.

Ok, thanks Hodge. I'll give it a try. By coincidence my unit is a Kenwood also.
