G'day All Thanks for having me!
G'day all just posting a quick hello!
This forum was a massive help on the weekend giving me enough confidence and the information needed to have a go at a swivel hub rebuild on my ute.
A bit about myself: My names Jarrod, I'm living around the Newcastle NSW area at the moment and my pride and joy is an 06 TD42ti GU Ute! I would post a pic of it but I don't know how to do that yet haha
just a quick question while I'm here; In my swivel hub rebuild kit there were 2 silver washers (one for each side in guessing) with a square tab on the inside of one side. I didn't notice any washers like this on my ute when stripping the hub down are they needed?
Thanks again for having me and for all the help and info!

Hi mate, welcome and glad my thread was helpful. The wasger your talking about is for a GQ front end without the round lock nut. The washer bends over to lock the 54mm nut. Your GU has a e
Round nut with 2 phillips head screws.
Its a Nissan! =====> Its a Keeper!! ....... Got a TD42 in it BONUS!!
....... I'm a lucky bugger! I've got 2 of em!

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
WARNING: Towballs used for recoveries can, and do kill people and damage property.

Have a look at the pics below. I think that is the washer that goes under the first nut.
The Lock washer is a bit bigger i think as seen in this pic below
Did you put a washer under the first nut?

So being a GU you have the setup at the bottom. The round nuts in red are the GU alternate bearing nuts. No washer detailed.
If you have Manual Hubs you have the nuts in Red then the middle alternate detail.
