LEO’s, Military and EMS personnel I fully agree with being able to utilise quick deployment knives due to their job descriptions and also other areas like rope rescue / abseiling etc, I used to carry them when I was instructing abseiling classes for rescue purposes when people's hair, clothing etc got caught and needed to be freed quickly.
You make a valid point about legitimate non weaponised use of ‘quick deployment’. I guess EMS is Emergency medical Services? What are LEO’s?

Not really surprising when it is clearly promoted as a weapon rather than a tool. It might be a very good knife but advertising it like that is irresponsible imho.
I must admit it never occurred to me to view that video in such way, my concern is only in regards to being a knife and general "nanny state" authorities views on knives. It actually chits me to tears because you can walk to any outdoor or disposal store in Australia and buy yourself a knife which is clearly nothing else but an offensive weapon designed for nothing else but combat all legally, while a folding knife could be confiscated just because it can be carried in the pocket. I actually have a similar folding knife by Smith and Wesson bought of course here in Oz and I do carry it in my pocket when outdoors, and let me reiterate I don't give a rats arse what do gooders or authorities on their endless march to protect me think!
Reminds me the chithole I work at and imbecile manager banning box cutters/utility knife which don't self retract due to some OHS concerns. I've been using proverbial "Stanley" knife for over 30 years and I'm yet to cut myself with it.

Good stuff, finally some sense
I've had a couple confiscated in the past due to their lack of understanding the laws they're required to uphold, an example was a paracord wrapped survival knife I ordered got snaffled because they deemed it to be a "throwing knife".
When I questioned them they replied that they applied their "testing policies" and was deemed to be a thrower despite the manufacturer's supporting document stating a survival knife only. They didn't like being asked if they tested the knife by throwing it, we don't do things like that (apparently) but they couldn't deny they had according to their policies.
One can buy those para-cord knifes at BCF or Aussie Disposal stores, what the idiots, justifying their tax payers funded salaries as usual while all sorts of contraband just happens to slip by....
So I guess I have to decide or throw a dice to see if it is worth spending over $400 AUD + and then have it potentially confiscated by the idiots trying to protect me from a harm. I still suspect that those who are unscrupulous just want help themselves to those confiscated items almost would want to think they'd go out their way if they happen to like the item in question wink wink....

On Mega factories on TV they had a doco about the knifes history, they even

think Ill start a knife and do it step by step for you fo follow.
Ive had this Damascus up swept skinner for a few years now
and seeing Im feeling a bit better its time to start doing some knives.
Later on Ill do one from scratch and go through all the steps.temper etc
First off Ill do some file work alond the spine, as the pic says
it will have 2 mosaic pins ,tthe scales themselves will be
streaky buffalo horn held on with brass pins,
Almost forgot it will have finger grooves as well
FYI that mosaic pin is only 3/16th
