When were catalytic converters fitted to GQs

As the title asks, does anybody know when cats were fitted to the GQ / RB30? Mine is a '94 and I was told that 4wds had a few years leeway than road cars.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

Cats were introduced into Australia in 1986 so I dare say yours wont have one from factory.

Mine's 1990 GQ RB30. No cat. AFAIK, the law is not retroactive.

I've also heard somewhere(though not sure) that straight LPGs don't need cats to comply?
RB30, some 2-3 inch lift auxiliary LPG tanks
Few more mods on the way

nope not in nsw, if it had one it needs one. even factory gas cars have cats.

Yeah, no doubt if the car came with a one, probably it'd better have a one.

I've also heard somewhere about a government subsidy scheme or something along those lines, when we need to replace a one that is not performing well enough, or when we decide to install a one that has never had a one(that doesn't need a one by law).

Which is confusing. Mudnut's 94 RB30 doesn't have a one, but ideally "should" have a one if your 93 TB42 came with a one.

Mine's 1990, so I guess I might have a good excuse for not having a one?!
