What is this??
Hi all
What is the item circled red for? I know it's some sort of air valve/regulator of some sort, but what purpose does it serve? Reason I ask is because there is an annoying clicking sound at idle and I believe it may be this item.
Edit, this is the intake off a tb42e.
Thanks for looking
Andy
IMO and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Nah, don't think so... I don't know what it is, but I'm positive it isn't a Cricket...
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

Not lame at all... it worked... you got a reply.
If we keep it up you may even get a useful reply.
Either that or Clunk will spot the thread and that will be the end of that

I'm very respectful of Parksy's threads thanks ET........
I've got no idea what it is/does either. But if you have Nissan Fast, or if not, download it. Tap in your Vin number and you should be able o find out what it is from diagrams.
Either that, or pm me your Vin and I'll see if I can find out for you.

Chasing the same answer to the same question - what is this valve for. Is it a "deceleration control valve"? - trying to rid as much clutter from around the engine as possible, plus I'd like better engine braking.
"Can't" is a dirty 4 letter word.
Best way to deal with a "Can't" is to chop off the "t" and brew it in boiled water for a few minutes.
Sip on the "t", and consider what you've got left to work with

If it has coolant running through it it may be something to do with the EGR

No coolant at all and no EGR what so ever on a TB42E.
