Righto, another workfront. I had issues fitting the ARB BP51 stone guards. Turned out after ringing ARB, I was missing some small split wedges, however I was not convinced these would work, as others who have the same shocks say they vibrate off, so I modified some motorbike corrigated gaitors and on all 4 shocker rods and they came up well, very happy. ARB were very responsive and sent me express post the parts without issue.Rod Boot 1.jpgRod boot 2.jpgRod boot 3.jpg

So reading that correctly, you had the seats out of one car, and the body of another. You had the latches out of both of those cars however neither worked and you required the latch out of the car you own neither the body, nor the seats for?

You are correect, what are the chances? I can only assumed I f**cked it all up, per usual, and simply selected the wrong set from the multitude of buckets in the shed. The other brackets, including the ones I thought were my originals must have come from the donor. The shorter ones could only have come from the donor as they were rusty and manky, but from where in the car, dont know. Right now I dont care, the other brackets are already in the bin, never to be mixed up again.

Few lessons from this build, probably none will be learned from though.

I am going to start one. The build has probably been the worst kept secret on the forum in all honesty, but the initial events and ramifications of the event that triggered the rebuild have remained pretty raw for a while, plus I didn't want to get bogged down documenting and reporting whilst building and working. I am about to move the vehicle out of the shed today to 'set it free' and then take it home, once I clear the garage out of all the stuff I have backfilled. The build is conversion of the GQ wagon into a dual cab, with a 1500mm tray , multitude of performance upgrades, which in all honesty are overkill but I had the money so did them.
