    Fan belt change ZD30 engine

    Hi guys,
I'm trying to replace the cracked fan belt on my 2011 Patrol.
It looks easy enough in the manual, but I'm having trouble getting enough leverage/strength with the breaker bar from underneath (to release the fan belt tensioner)
Is it safe to use a jack under the breaker bar to carefully lift/move it?
    Or any other advice?
    Thanks
    Pete

Do it from the top, breaker bar with a long bottle jack handle over that for extra leverage is what I used to do. Piss easy.

I use a ring spanner from below and use a ratchet strap that I wrap around the passenger side wheel with the strap's hook through the other end of the ring spanner. Easy.

That allows two hands to remove and replace the belt.

One handed Ratchet straps on tensioners for the Win Bill Mate
Never done a ZD30 serpy but definitely works on heavier serpy springs like our old cab over 8.3 Cummins too
Originally found the concept myself very helpful after wrist surgery years ago needing to swap over an alternator on a TD42, ratchet strap hooked to the alt body and over the scrubbies to hook onto the passenger front steel rim and clicked away until tension happy for final one handed spanner nip up/off

Alright, we will try that process when changed the fan belt on my friend's new Patrol. Got to finish installing the shocks and exhaust from 4Wheelonline onto the Jeep tomorrow before we can start working on the Patrol the entire weekend.
