    Discrete UHF base install

Any ideas on discrete locations to mount the base for my UH9060 base in a GU?

Mine is under the centre console. Then a remote speaker mounted just below the heater controls.

I have two "hidden" UHF base units, one is under the passenger seat (hope I don't get stuck in deep water!) the other is behind the glove box, the cross bar that supports the dash is where I cable tied the "U" bracket that holds the unit (I used really wide thick strong cable ties that have survived the Anne Beadell and Cape York). I have remote speakers that are attached to the Cargo Barrier.

I have a Uniden 9080 under the passenger seat. And I ran a LAN cable to one of them flash mount sockets for the hand piece which sits just to the left of the steering wheel.

I mounted my base in the centre console behind where the cup holders sit (hidden inside), i drilled holes for the factory speaker to "vent" (so no need for a external speaker) and ran the handset cable out above where the handbrake is, been working very well for years , and the handset cord pulling backwards toward the middle of the car, instead of being sprung pulling towards the dash, no longer did the handset fall from my lap on to the floor when on steep down hill slopes, this happened to me a lot with a dash mounted UHF, and this config is also handy if a rear passenger wants to talk into the mic, you don't need to stretch the cord to reach into the back seat.

Why discrete? If you have an antenna any moron would know there is a UHF there somewhere

Not for hiding mate, just out of the way. Already had the RJ45 passthrough in my head that could possibly go into the blank panel in the center console.

I have mine mounted under the drivers seat. I actually used double sided tape and mounted it on top of the Nissan Factory Heating vent that points to the rear passenger feet. It has been there for 10 years.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
