Decent HORN!
What aftermarket horns are people running? As we all know the stock ones are pathetic! I want something preferably that is plug and play that will fit in the stock position.. From memory the Stebel ones are the ducks nuts but require custom mounting and running new wiring?
I was almost just taken out 3 times in 10mins.. While giving them a blast after the fact wont help the situation it will make me feel better.. The idiots just looked at me and almost starting laughing lol

G’day Softy mate!
Aftermarket wise in my FJ younger delusional days was quite fond of ‘Dixie’ until I lost the 4th trumpet atop of Mt Terrible-Vic :-)
I too have been thinking beyond stock elecy’s now for classic Ooga’s or the like :-)

I am he, fear me
Almost all of the better after-market Horns will need a power relay.
I usually go for the Stebel, mount it in place of the Drivers side factory horn, run a power wire from the battery and use the existing wiring for relay switch and earth... very simple to do.
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

Apparently "Ford" horns are plug and play and much louder, but I don't think they will satisfy my needs.

The horn from the wife Mazda 6 is fecking scary loud. Also the horn from my Territory has a decent honk on it too. I think I will find a Mazda 6 horn to put in my Patrol as I've killed three Stebel air horns in a row.

Not really sure to be honest. All have died the same way. Well now sound the same... I press the horn and its like theres not enough voltage getting to the motor to drive the pump, I hook it up direct to a battery and its the same. But they work fine for the first however long, then just get sick and sound sick. The Mazda horn will be good.
