EGR plate/Blocker
Hey guys
After reading the massive difference blocking the EGR makes i am 100% sold.
I have seen on ebay and other websites EGR blocking plates for other model cars but no GQ 2.8td. Its not that i cant make it i just work more or less 7 days and the rest of the time in renovating so have no time, if not ill just have to suck it up and make one.
Cheers Damo

Thats because your gq wont have an egr. They were introduced in the GU's.

I am he, fear me
... at least you can have a day off now and not have to head for the shed
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

Oh ok i have this in my car, so blocking it will have no improvement? I read elsewhere on the forum other people doing. If not i guess its one less thing to do.

Hey guys
I got around to making the blanking plate today but when i loosened the two nuts and moved the egr valve to put the plate in i seen that the gasket was stuffed.
I put the plate in anyway went for a drive to see if anything changed and i noticed in third and forth gear when i put my foot down it would rev up to 3000rmp but not pick up speed very quickly. I figured it was leaking from the egr valve because of the gasket, so i went to supercheap, autobahn and repco and nothing in the ways of gaskets for the egr valve.
The guy at repco suggested gasket paper so i got some when home tried it and still the same thing.... has this happened to anyone else before? Could it be something maybe? Or does it seem like it is leakingfrom the egr. Any help would be great.
Cheers Damo

Cant say for sure coz I drive a TD42, but if th RD28 is like the ZD30, then maybe the computer needs to relearn..... I think disconnecting the battery resets the computer.....
Hipefully some of the more knowledgeable members will chime in
