The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

The problem I see with is, is that we love adding things to our cars that use a lot of electrical power... Big lights, winches etc. Every winch recovery or night drive is going to majorly impact on your battery capacity.
Maybe we could use small internal combustion engines to power a hydraulic pump for winching?

There you go @Winnie. You could design a complete package for EV 4x4s. A 4 stroke chainsaw that can be fitted to a hydraulic winch and / or a generator with an electric winch.
