The scabies cream I found in the first aid cabinet here has worked pretty well. Seems that clambering over rotting logs in the rainforest is asking for trouble.

Very angry at my self more than anything. I never ever ever ever take any of our cars to one of them hand wash places.
But a few days ago at local Westfield it got the better of me. Thought i'll get them to give it a quick wash while I duck into the shops. Especially underneath as it was going to the mechanics for brakes the following day. First hurdle was a language barrier.
    1st mistake. I didn't drive away.
Got a text 20 minutes later the car is ready. When I got there 3-4 of them are standing around the car scratching their heads. "Your paint looks like oxidized and we cant get rid of it" is what I got told... Car looked washed but it had faint dark blotches and water streaks all around, when looked at from a certain angle. I've never seen anything like it before. Even the black trims around the car had weird swirls and streaks. So I said can you wash it again to get rid of it , to a reply that they already had a go... They showed no interest in discussing what happened and what to do as they had a full line of other poor sob's cars to attend.
    2nd mistake. I drove away.
When I got home it all dried out but the damage remained. No matter what I attacked it with in terms of car cleaning I had at home, nothing was coming off.
And because everything was dry I now noticed that panels seem dull. Car didn't have that bit of shine it had prior. Even the mechanics doing the brakes day after asked wtf happened to the panels.
Neighbour owns a panel and detailing shop so I drove there straight up and he knew from word go what happened. The mofos used a very harsh non PH neutral wash. It literally ate all the remaining wax away and then began eating the black trims around the car hence why it all ended up all over the panels. He demonstrated it on some old white panels he had around the shop. What took some of the dark swirls off was surprisingly spraying some CRC onto it.
It now needs a serious cut 'n polish, clean up and wax job to more so protect the paint rather then make it look shiny again. It kind of needed it anyway, but not to this extend and not because of this reason.
Car is 17 years old and gets used and dirty, the paint was not perfect but now it just looks like s#it until fixed. At least it'll get a freshen up and looks the goods once more on a positive.
Was very hard to take proper photos on a white car to show exactly whats going on. But pics give a rough idea.

Can't really tell in the pics..... Get some iso-propyl alcohol and mix 50/50 with water then wipe all over the panels to remove any shit they would have left behind.
Then a good wash and you will have to spend half a day on a polisher to get the shine back. Good cover of wax, spray sealant and never use a car wash again.

I made the mistake of putting the BMW in the care of the local indian crew at the shopping centre for a wash whilst shopping. Yeah, the $30 wash didn't include the replacement $900 parking sensor that got a dose of high pressure water up its clacker - never again. 4 weeks wait as they are car and location matched ex Germany.

Thanks mate. He managed to get a fair bit of it off using some boat degreaser mixed with something else. THink i'll leave the cut and polish job to the pros though

When will I learn that I’m a useless bastard (family friendly) when changing oil n filter.
Minor environmental impact to my lawn this time, I’ve “top dressed” it(hidden). Thankfully I don’t have a full time carer to go psycho feral wench mode on me this time.
    But my concrete driveway f**********************k
Started with raging hot sump plug, ended with that lil arse ache of a filter drip tray dumping all over the freakin diff and all directions of the freakin compass from there!

IF YA DONT GET STUCK YA AINT TRYIN HARD ENOUGH........OR YA TOOK THE CHICKEN TRACK

WARNING: TOWBALLS USED WITH SNATCHSTRAPS DO KILL!!
