Thanks Mark. I’ll see if I can either, get the rims swapped, or see what shorter axles there are first.

Wish I could just click my fingers and have it all done.

Another thing that peeves me off.... welding upside down! Gawd! I run a few test welds to get the mig settings right. Do this, my welds are spot on, then climb under the trailer and I’m welding like I spaz! I gave up in the end and just accepted that this is how they are going to be. Spatter burns are great too.

Today has NOT been a good day.

Mark, you may have quite easily got the mig wire sheath on too tight a bend radius and it would not feed correctly - been there numerous times trying to squeeze under the car and get the gun aligned correctly, jump out, test weld again, all good, back under, cocky shit.

Quite possible mate. I probably should have pulled the old arc welder out in hindsight.

Yeah ther difference in welding where your nice and comfortable vs upside down contosionist with ya helmet wedged between an axle is quite substantial. . At least no one wil lie under there and criticise hopefully . . .

Are you doing your test welds upside down? You will need different settings when welding upside down compared to horizontal down hand.

I did not know this, but it makes sense. Gravity will want to pull the molten metal away from where its supposed to go. Too late now...
