We didn't need camp lights the night after we visited there. Vehicles and us all had a nice green glow!!

Yep, my wife wasn't keen on going in at all, but I wasn't going to miss it. There were 3 camels in there just hanging around.

We camped that night up near the Emu township ruins, I'm pretty sure that's what it's called. There's a camp site there with a table and seating and a roof. We went up the road a smidge and found a great spot on a ridge with a view of the Emu runway/claypan.

Stayed at old Andado for a few days and when these two pulled up we thought Pat Callinan would surely be in the Patrol ,none of the fourbies had a speck of dust anywhere on them and one of the other campers thought they might have been aliens .
The photo of the red ute is a comparison of what all our vehicles looked like .

Tyres aren't even dusty, where'd they come from?

Anyone at Old Andado? I heard that there wasn't a caretaker there anymore????

Caretaker got rolled in the middle of the night a few years back and they've had trouble finding anyone to do it , we loved the place it's got so much history and is so interesting but has been neglected and starting to show .
The donation money jars were stuffed full of notes and coins and the campground fee box was chockers , showers and toilets filthy but we pitched in and gave them a clean .

That's great mate, well done. There's talk on another forum of trying to arrange something like a volunteer list for people who'd be happy to stay and look after the place as in the past.

I think Old Andado was surrounded by flood water after the last lot of rain etc earlier this year. Did you see any evidence of that?

How did they mess that up when the FJ looked so much cooler?
It's obviously designed for practicality over looks, like an orthopaedic sandal.
