Diff shaving. Who's dunnit! Whats involved?

After briefly speaking with Rossco a while back about diff shaving, I can stop thinking about it. My rear diff is the H260 and even when I had the 35's I would get hung up on everything. From my limited searching on this I see a few people saying the clearance gained is substantial.

So has anyone done it? Who did it? Pics? Procedures and process?

    Cheers.

I assumed that's what the Gu diffs are renowned for. Thick heavy and robust so you can actually get hung on them without damaging them.

If you shave the meat off youre jeopordising that aren't you.

Haven't shaved mine just braced the front, you thinking just the rear Markie or front & back? I know you can potentially take a fair bit of with a bit of bracing done, remember @MudRunnerTD put up some pics and info a while back on it. If your after a kit for the front recommend the race bred kit 4 sure. .

If I were to do it, the rear needs to be done. The H260 diff is huge. But I dont have anywhere at home I can do this. Under cover in my ricketty carport with a sloping gravel surface isn't ideal. Lol. So its more a pipe dream at the moment.
Either this or my other thought was to swap the H260 out for the smaller H233. But I'm not sure if thats ideal...

You just need to know the distance between the crown wheel and the bottom of the housing. It's about 25mm I think.
Just cut or drill a hole in the housing to get a distance. Then cut out the housing and replace with some plate. Leave about 5mm or so space between the crown wheel and housing. It'll be a relatively simple job.

Fairly certain you'll need to modify or relocate the drain bung.

Edit. I just read that link above.

Yeah it doesn't look overly difficult. I think the removal of the diff from the Patrol would be harder.
