Hmm, I know they are high flow injectors. The first set died and even though they were only 35k old, out of warranty and the mob who made the injectors werent interest in helping out.

Mmmm you don't need high flow injectors, or high crack pressure for that instance. (Im assuming there's higher pressure too)

I used to have high crack pressure when it was the style at the time. But they dont stay at the set pressure for long, effectively changing your injection timing, using more fuel and grumpy when stone cold.

Standard injectors at standard pressure will do

I thought there was no such thing as high flow injectors Benny, wasn't it just crack pressures only?

I do notice that GQ td4t and GU utes get way better consumption as a whole. No Doubt this is a weight advantage.

The GU TD42Tdi wagons are higher fuel usage.
For me Im sure it was the 4.3 Diff revving high on 110kmh which I did twice or once a week for 60kms

Everything else is in perfect condition.

I do believe mine is in dire need of a decent tune though as my last Christmas trip towing the camper, I had to hit the reserve tank button around 80ks earlier than every other time before doing the same trip. And my water temps were higher than usual too. Coincidence? Im more concerned about the water temps than the fuel usage though...But I have zero time now to get it done so it will just leave it.
I hate reading that. About the water temp.

Do you think its just cooling system maintenance is due?

What kind of temps were you seeing and under what conditions?

16L seems excessive ??? And I dont generally drive like a nanna.

No the system is well up to scratch. Rapid cool copper rad, G35 fan, re oiled hub, high flow water pump, hi flow thermostat. Air flow is good. I noticed the higher temps about 5 minutes after leaving the workshop.
I.e At 100kph, I would see 80c, and 85c at 110c. Under load up a hill at 60k's, 85c, now its 90-95c, towing my camper at 100ks used to be 85-90c, now its 95-110c. The workshop just fobbed it off as being summer. Well, yeah maybe but when I drive it in and I drive it out and i instantly see the change. I am not so sure.
I just need to get my Patrol somewhere else for a second opinion and tune sometime.

What did you have done at the workshop? A tune?
You got some serious cooling gear on her. Thats awesome!
Sounds like a tune issue. Bad tuning can mean heat I have seen.

Im sure its something simple. Keep us updated.
