Exhaust leak
Hey guys!
Was doing a service on the patrol over the weekend and after pulling my fuel filter off I noticed that it was covered in soot on one side.
Took some photos, let me know what you think. Easy fix or better to go to a mechanic?

That to me looks like a EGR pipe that goes onto the intake ? Drivers side? EGR pipe could be leaking or cracked perhaps.

Yeah your right, defiantly egr pipe, I shoulda picked up on that earlier.
Hopefully just a new gasket and should be right?

Could be a gasket but also could be a cracked EGR pipe.
On my crd it was a cracked pipe.

Its a known fact they tend to crack the egr pipe.
normally with a whistling sound that goes away as it warms up
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
