All round pleasant day really, woke up to a wicked thunder storm this morning with crazy rain, then cleared to a nice day. Drove the GQ up to Mansfield and droped it off @ Millweld. Looks like we sussed the air filter in my obscure location which is good. Got a lift to the bus stop, relaxing trip back to YG, can't wait to pick it up at the end of the week ☺. . .

Yeah that's what I thought, $12K bloody hell, it must have 500,000 on the clock or something??
No pics of the holder, I'll see if I can take some today for you. It's really simple, just a reverse L shape, bolts on via the top 2 bolts that hold the spare wheel onto the rear door. Come up to a small T piece, one side holds the light, the other has 2 vertical prongs that the shovel slides over.
I thought all was well with it until I shut the rear door and the shovel rattled a fair bit, may need some additional bracing?????

Starting to pack and do a 'shakedown' on my ute in readiness for my holidays.
Only problem is that I had to look up the Owner's Manual to see how to engage L4. PML @Clunk

Going along the west coast then down the south coast. Gunna put my ute in the competition at the Albany Show on 10 Nov and staying in Esperance for 4 nights from about 16th, then it's flip a coin as to where we go. Wouldn't mind heading towards the start of the Great Australian Bight and have a look around there, seems we'll be in Esperance.
I'm really hanging out for hols. Had my last lot in March, and got 6 weeks this time.

Between Albany and Esperance, see if you can drop into Hopetoun and drive/walk in the Fitzgerald national Park. We were there two weeks ago and the park (sorry Biosphere) was well in bloom. Should be great at this time of year.

Will do. Last time I went that way, from memory, it was closed due to either fire or flood.
Got my discounted annual parks pass from RAC, so there's no excuse. lol.

It was closed a couple of months ago due to floods washing the causway out. They have put in a temp causway at the Hopetoun end, but the other end, Bremer Bay end is still closed or very rough. I was talking with the rangers there and apparently Hopetoun in the Ravensthorpe shire worked with DPAW, the Progress Association and other groups to get a road through, while the other end decided to just block off the damaged roads until they could get to them. Ravensthorp want the tourist trade and they are prepared to do a bit extra to get it.
cheers Tony
