    Rear carpet fix GQ

For the life of me I can’t remember how the original carpet in the GQ attaches to the other side where I’m pointing in this photo.

Does anyone have a photo? Is there a metal trim or?

The fold down seat is in the way and there is too much crap in the cargo area to set it up, but from what I can tell, the two pieces of carpet just overlap. Maybe a bit of velcro further under.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

If you jing ping it like I have suggested a couple of times the noise level will reduce significantly, do the wheel arches as well. The box is in the shed with the roller. The surface is very tough, its foil over elastomer and will wear well with a ply top or a vinyl. I left my vinyl rear sheet in place for noise reduction. Also, remove the felt from the back of the vinyl sheet to save that time when the back gets flooded. 4" angle grinder and flap disc, take 5 mins - all the gear is in MB's shed if you want to go that way.

Yeah with the 37 in the back i need it to be easy to slide. I put the carpet back in for 1 trip and was a pain to get tthe wheel out and back in so i trashed it. All carpet now gone in the GQ.

Yeah I’m not so keen on putting carpet back in and at this stage I can’t afford to put drawers in just yet either.

Was maybe thinking of a sheet of rubber and a metal trim connecting it to the other carpet in my photo.

I need something there for now and drawers later on.

Way to many more important things to do on the old girl first before drawers.
