I won 280 1500x70x15 messmate planks at an auction. Went down to pick them up and it was a commercial hardwood saw mill. Had a chat with the owner and ended up driving away with another two packs. All mismatched timbers, grains and sizes but perfect for what I'm going to do with them. The packs contained various pieces of Ironbark, greygum, Redgum, West Australian karri, and others I can't remember. Also in it are some fiddle back timbers, from which species I do not know. Looking forward to finally having material to produce stuff with again!

G'day Rusty, that WA karri is a white ant magnet....they'll crawl over nearly every timber we have just to munch on it...they'll even crawl up walls to eat it if it's in the roof, they love it that much...cheers

What has made you Happy today??

So two weeks ago we, as a in me and my brother and sister paid for us and my dad to do a salami making course. So last weekend we made our own.
I was just out in the bungalow spraying them down and the wonderful smells I got when entering the room. Wow!

My share. It’s not many in the end as we had to divide the makings by five. But it’s our first batch. 12kgs of meat in total.
