Just got the patrol (2016 CRD) back after a 4 week wait due to a hold up with parts. Had the full Fabwitz FMIC/Snorkel/Intake Pipework/Airbox fitted along with a destalled Torque converter/Heavy duty flex plate/stage 2 valve body, all fitted by West Coast 4x4 creations in Perth.

Then on Monday she’s off down to modified diesel performance for a UFI ZL30 and Alphatec module. I took it for a good 250km drive today to make sure all was well, and man! It’s like driving a different vehicle, nice firm shifts with no flaring and no need to constantly back off due to high EGT’s on the hills.

Can’t wait till next week after the new tune and ZL30 are done, should have plenty of grunt. She’ll be pushing somewhere around the 180-200rwhp as a daily.

Pic of the Fabwitz kit below, after taking to Shaun at westcoast, I’m glad he fitted it all and not myself. Reckons it was an absolute pain to do.

Pushing some good numbers now the ZL30 Turbo and tune with an Alphatec module have been fitted.

Different beast to drive now, very happy with it! I think the best mod I’ve done is the transmission stuff, what a difference in driveability it’s all made
Keep in mind the figures below are from a hub dyno.

    Base Tune: 145hp : 383Nm
    Tune 1: 209.9hp : 538Nm
    Tune 2: 241.6hp : 634Nm

Overhauling the rear brakes. Rebuilding calipers and fitting RDA rotors with DBA Extreme pads.
Decided to paint the calipers but need to bake them in the oven tomorrow before fitting the new rubbers, etc.

Why did you bake them? When I rebuilt my calipers I just sprayed them, let it dry, assembled them and off I went. Still nice and red 50thou later.

Just following the instructions on the VHT Caliper Paint can. They say for max chemical resistance to bake for an hour at 200F.
They probably would cure over time anyway with brake heat but baking them is a pretty easy process.

Now I have to do the fronts..
