Td42 runs on after shut down
Old girl tends to run on after shutdown would i be rite in thinkin that its the pump timing?

There is a few causes for this. Pump timing as you already said. The fuel cut solenoid or the other one is if the springs are a little soft in your injectors.

Hey mate, i just had the pump and injectors replaced so im thinkin i can rule out pump timing and injectors ...privided its all set up rite..

Double check timing. Did they replace the fuel cut solenoid when you got your pump rebuilt.

I had this issue in my old petrol hilux it turned out to be heat soak through to the carby so fitted a new gasket which stopped it, can't remember what it was made of sorry.

What do you call run on. A big shudder when you turn it off, or does it run for a few seconds?

Diesel run on. The engine turns over for to long after shut down. Mine still does it occasionally But only every once in a while and only for an extra turn at the most.
I would try and retard the timing and see what happens. Just a little bit at a time.
