Took my youngest the the Werribee Open range zoo yesterday. We had a close encounter pass to the Servals, which was for her birthday. Pretty amazing animals. We stayed and watched the four new lion cubs for ages too. The entire pride was right in front of us.
You gotta get down there and see these cubs at play. Really awesome The weather wasn't the best for us unfortunately but we still had a great day.

Thats brilliant mark. Wife and I went on a road trip 2 yrs ago and visited Dubbo and Canberra Zoo, stayed overnight in a room that is part of the cheetah enclosure, obviously separated by a heavy glass window, but the cheetah basically sleep right next to you. They did have another option, which was not avail to us, but they do a leash led meet and greet with a cheetah also. Also had dinner with a pride of lions that sauntered in and out past us - again separated by glass but they were free to come and go - great experience. I think this experience lifts it to a whole new level - how did you organise it?

Thanks Phil. Its organised through the zoo. They have a number of encounters you can do. If we could have touched and handled the lion cubs I would have been all over this. They are my favorite animals by far. Well them and Tigers. I could have just sat there and the lion enclosure all day if I could. I have video footage of the Lions and cubs at play but the interwebs here is so bad I cannot upload a thing.
The serval was great too. The handler put a piece of meat on a stick about 3 metres above him and the serval just jumped straight up and grabbed it. My daughter was in awe with this animal. It was just me and her for the day, no big sis to annoy her. Was a really good day.

Helped buy my daughter a car on the weekend, everyone happy.
Poor kid moved to Melbourne in 2011 for Uni. We gave her & her brother our old Falcon in 2012 which she dinged and she hasn't driven since, too scared at first, country kid on her own in the city just too much stress. She'd walk to the supermarket to buy groceries & walk back each week, relied on public transport and friends with cars to get around. She's had her first real job for the past 6 months & saved everything.
Great to see her so happy with her own car and a much more confident driver as well.

The one in the photo, swam up out of the water right at my feet !! Where it is on the photo, is where my feet were dangling off the chair, next to the rod. It did not have a care in the world that I was there. It just sat there as it got some heat. Was slow moving as it just came out of cold water. Just gave it wide berth and eventually was on its way.
It was one of around 6 that we seen the whole weekend. 3 sightings was probably the same one...

Have you sorted out your vacuum issues? If yes, give @Rossco a call as i think he has an issue after this last weekend.
