Steel bar on, minus the winch and managed to score 615mm exactly

To achieve matching rear uni joint angles on the shorty tailshaft for exactly 580mm unladen height took 12mm of purchased gearbox crossmember spacers each side and installation of adjustable upper control arms to shorten their length from OEM 400mm down to 375mm in the end.
I’m not 100% sure the 565mm front and 530mm rear factory ride heights for GQ’s is correct? This little thing looks like a jacked up Ford Bronco now

1,999kg hooked to its back now with 10% towball weight, going to need an extra 5psi in the rear bags tomorrow for a 24hr delayed departure, here’s hoping Fords 1989 4.5L carbureted engines can handle some nonstop miles like Nissan’s old diesel dinosaur donks

FWIW: For Top Folks whom own any variant (LWB/SWB/Ute) GQ-Y60 models with aftermarket auxiliary fuel tanks tucked up on the drivers side - beside the tail shaft and chassis, listen carefully pretty please before departing on your once in a lifetime family adventure
Once the aftermarket auxiliary tank is installed, it is physically impossible to remove the front lower trailing arm (control arm drivers side) bolt to replace a rubber bush without completely removing the tank.
Poor design from several aftermarket manufacturers IMHO albeit hindered by OEM design, sell and forget I feel , please be sure to install OEM brand NEW front ‘rubber’ lower control/trailing arm bushes before your long awaiting earned departure
That would be a horrible job to do trackside somewhere out in a current boggy desert

I noticed that even without any extra tank, that bolt is in the way of the muffler (on what you call the passenger side). A lot easier to jack the muffler up and make room for the bolt, though, but still the same issue "from factory".

How does that actually work? I have never towed anything and my knowledge about towing only goes as far as those internet videos of a toy car in a treadmill where they change the weight distribution to make it roll over...

You can buy a cheap towball weight scale. Basically a two pieces of pipe, one inside the other with spring and graduated weight indications.
