Sooo, just asking, does this trip ever happen during school holidays ? (as in sometime between Saturday, 27 June 2020 -Sunday, 12 July 2020), just that my Daughter/s would love to see snow for the first time, and that's the only time i can get off with both of them next year, also 2020 is the first year i may have a Patrol that can comfortably make the trip down ?

Or does anyone do a trip like this in that time period that could show us around ?

Probably a little bit early to see decent snow. There will be some but not a massive lot. Unless we get a big dump. August is the best month for snow.
As for the annual trip. No locked in dates as yet. But it would be great to finally meet you.

100% mate, been reading you for years, would be nice to put a face to the name. Can someone else confirm, isn't our usual visit in and around the t3-t4 break? Can you make something like that work for you @04OFF ?

Just remember Rusty, when you see the face, you may understand why i stand "behind" the camera (lol)

The Vic high country is a place ive wanted to visit for a while now, my Daughter also would love to see snow for the first time, i have family in Sydney i can see on the way, and while im down with the "Mexicans" ,id like to continue on (or go first) and do the great ocean road, and whatever the forum suggests on route, perhaps taking 2 weeks off work to travel slow and easy from/back to Brisbane.

I don't wish to camp, and don't know my way around Vic or the high country, so the forum trip sounds kinda perfect for that part of my trip, plus i can meet some new people, whilst getting shown around by the locals, and maybe drink a beer or ten.

I wont actually have a car till feb, so it will take some planning and learning all over again, i don"t want to start something planned around me, just in-case i can't go, but i do know one thing, i wont be able to take my Daughter/s away for 2 weeks, unless its within a QLD school holiday period.

Always a good couple of clean double beds in our little hills shack next door for good travelling family and friends folk welcome mate!
Mexican snow here can be found usual winters some 1hrs nearby albeit not worthy of packing a snowboard but still top Littlens fun making icy Snowman’s roadside with a little bit of mud and rocks mixed in for eyeballs and the like

If i could get to see that amount of snow it would be just awesome mudski, my girl would have a blast in that, ive seen snow heaps myself both in Europe and Asia, but never in Aus, nor have i really drove a car in it ,so that would be great fun for me too, (ive ridden push bikes and motorbikes in it heaps overseas tho)

We were extremely lucky that weekend. On the way up to the snow in the pics, there was snow falling at 380m. I have never seen it fall that low. Where we intended to go, the road was closed as there was nearly a metre of snow over the roads. So we found another way up the hills and got what you see in the pics. Quite funny as every man and his dog was doing the same thing. But, the cars thinned out and only the capable 4wds were left for the good stuff right up top.

    Don't forget . You can't "time" snow.
Remember last August there was sweet f*** all up there. And even the decent dumps lasted a mere 24 hours ... The proper retaining snow only started mid September.
