Removing A/C evaporator from GQ Patrol

    Hi all,

Has anyone Removed the A/C evaporator from a GQ Patrol, and have any helpful hints.

The first thing I would like to know is if the dash needs to be removed or not.

    Thanks for any help.

    Cheers

    Mark

Why do you need to remove the evaporator?
RB30, some 2-3 inch lift auxiliary LPG tanks
Few more mods on the way

    Hi,
    Need to replace
Last time I had a/c problem I checked in the box and the fins were half corroded away.
Don't no why, 1 owner nothing sprayed in there and was clean inside (no leaves)
So now needs a gas so I suspect its corroded though a tube now.

Gq evaporator is about as easy as it gets

    1. Get the system degassed if any in it
    2. Remove lines from firewall side
    3. Remove glove box
    4. Remove wiring connectors to case
    5. Remove the 10mm bolts mounting the case
    6. Remove whole evaporator case (slides back then down then back) but you will see what i mean when you do it

Isn't that just the blower fan case ?
    "Can't" is a dirty 4 letter word.
Best way to deal with a "Can't" is to chop off the "t" and brew it in boiled water for a few minutes.
Sip on the "t", and consider what you've got left to work with

Umm nope. Fan case is the case to the left with the motor sticking out the bottom. Evap case is in the middle and is very easy to get out once you know how. Even on a gu there is no need to remove dash to do evap or heater cores. If you want next time i do one ill take some pics and make a how to.
