    Post Have I killed the ecu

    Hi guys n gals
    2004 GU zd30 , replaced alternator yesterday .When I connected the 2nd battery I had it in the wrong way .
    It had run out of fuel I have primed the system , I cant seem to get it to start .
    Have I fried the ecu ??

    I'd be checking all the fusable links and fuses. Putting the battery in backwards, particularly the second (aux) battery shouldnt fry the ECU Even Mr Nissan should be able to predict that someone (many) would do that and have protection in the system. Check the main fusable link under the bonnet. @Yendor ??

    I think the ignition relay is under the dash with the fuses and its blue in colour. You can swap it out for another relay for the same colour, just to see if this is your issue. I know if the IP's on these motors have an air lock in them, you can burn out the PCB on them, well so I have been told. I would think just running out of fuel would do anything though.

    Thanks everyone for the feed back .
    No I did not fry the ecu or anything , just needed a really good bleed and a good squirt
    of Start Ya Bastard n she kicked into life .
