Not at you MR but just a general observation of how attitudes change over time.
Yeah I'd like a Y62 too!
What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal??

Lol I think technology has advanced so much now you dont need to rely on wheel articulation and massive tyres and diff locks as much.
Now with traction control, rock crawl, KDSS suspension etc . the car does all the work.
Though seeing IFS 4wds hanging one wheel in the air like a T rex dinosaurs short arms just looks wrong. lol

Bear in mind I have quite a bit of difficulty explaining the tech so it is understandable when it comes to cetane value, which relates to its auto ignition point and that kind of stuff. But, basically (very basic) it is the way the gas ignites as opposed to diesel fuel.
It will ignite before the diesel does, which is pre ignition. Difficult to hear on a td because it is a noisy rattly engine anyway. But it does pre ignite and will end up causing damage in the long run. A td is still very robust and will shrug off the abuse for quite some time, right up until it shits itself.
Yes there are dedicated diesel gas engines, they are usually low revving and incredibly robust industrial/heavy duty engines and can with withstand those conditions.
From a personal experience and what made me research more into it is when I cracked 3 pistons on my old td and was getting rebuild quotes and all that crap.
I had 4 separate companies (3 of which I had never done any business what so ever, the 4th was just the mob who built my intercooler) all asked why I was rebuilding,
Me, ' I cracked 3 three pistons'
Them, 'Ah you run Diesel gas'
Me, 'no just stupid amounts of boost'.

I would also agree.
It can be done but its usually by an oem who has the backup and engineers to design a system that works correctly. The biggest thing with a system like this is the control side of. The only way to do it is to put the gas in after ignition has ocurred. This will change depending on load and rpm etc. You are simply not going to get this precisely controlled for $4000. Water methanol is pretty good though.

I am he, fear me
Agree... bulk LPG (or Petrol) fumigation in a Diesel via the charge air is not ideal.
Cheaper and gives more power etc, yes, but has its drawbacks when it comes to control.
Injected fumigation gives optimum control but at a price and increased complexity.
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.
