I am sorry to find Gentlemen but have stuck this OEM dirty rubber nipple in my gob and truly vacuum sucked as hard as a bong smoking pot fiend could possibly do to no avail trying to close this suckers lips up safely for crud sucking potential

Unfortunately too Daz the rising inner tube wicked solution will struggle to work I believe for this specific airboxes position/scenario found as there is zero swing/elevation room for the tail end to complete its cutoff mission under swamping.
Have started plumbing up a fully sealed system with an old school manual drain that should sump/pipe snorkel splash collect up to a calculated 0.5L before the external lowest release valve to come needs releasing

Have tried to replicate the rubber OEM nipples sump (floor level) slots as best as possible and truly appears now the last dregs drains faster out too as it has 50% more holes (4 slots versus 6 hexagonal holes)

Oh wow, took me a while to work it out (the little holes bit) very nicely done

Yeah do like Millwelds way of doing it, I just leave the tap closed all the time and only open after driving in pretty crazy storm and usually only get a little out. . Just good peace of mind to know it's 100% sealed I reckon. .

Whatcha think of this wacky airbox drain idea @Rossco Mate
Bought a plumbers one-way check valve on the way home from work:

Drilled a tiny hole in the end of its outlet shaft:

A mini brass eyelet screw in the end and a pair of nipple rings attached:

Give her a tug and she squirts all over the place:

Think I’ll keep it manually activated from outdoors if needed but in theory comp truck blokes could add on an old school choke cable system to activate an emergency drain whilst on the racing fly maybe

    Nice work Chrisso Mate
Before you get safety flamed, I can see you’re carefully just rolling the weed matting back and lightly popping the shrubs very shallow roots easily.
My honest question is though, how on earth did you connect your hook to the weed matting without ripping through in milliseconds ?
Some sort of graspy clampy useful thingy?

The pics make me seem much more smarterer than I truly are.
I hooked around the base of the hedges and it pulled the matting with it

Yeah made short work of it. We are all ready for the builder to come in and get started on our deck pergola in 2 weeks. Very exciting!

    Perfect spot chosen too Mate!
Life gets brilliant when you can easily/quickly step between the Mrs kitchen and your wicked Mr tucker smoker contraption outdoors area without needing to poncho up with umbrellas over meat trays in the rain ☔️
