dont forget, DGas & Diesel Gas were all the rage because you couldn't get a chip for the 3L, unless you imported them from Italy(and even then, it was for a 3L Fiat not a Patrol)
the early TD42 (like mine) works with the Gas as there is NO Computers in my Car, so even if I could get a chip for it (now they ARE available for the later models) it wouldnt work, as I dont have a computer run motor
as an example
- if I run my TD42 to and from work for a week - works out at 13.9L/100 - $60.00 diesel
- if I run my TD42 to and from work with the gas on for a week - works out at 12.5L/100 - $38.00 diesel & $12.00 gas
so its cheaper to run with the gas on, and I get better economy, and for a TD42, thats great economy
Basically what I said more suited to the 4.2 rather than the
3lt which are pretty much on limit out of the box

Uummmmm something doesn't gel, Cobber?
12.5 LPH versus 13.9 LPH of Diesel economy is 10% less Diesel used for the week... or... 90% of the original amount of Diesel is still required
$38 versus $60 is 36% less money spent on buying Diesel... or... you only bought 63% of the original amount of Diesel instead of the 90% still required
If you needed 90% of the original amount of Diesel you would need to spend 90% of the original amount to buy it ($54)

Sell the Dgas and put the $ towards other mods on the ZD IMHO
The more i think and hear is that best option would be to remove the d-gas and go with other mods planned and get a chip or retune ecu
any ideas on chips and remaped ecu ?

cost more to remove than what its worth
need a licensed Gas fitter to remove
and no feerker will buy it anyway, because you need a Gas Fitter to install it

well, normally when I fuel up, it costs me $50 to top up diesel & Gas tanks
when I forgot to fill up the Gas, and drove for a week without it, the next week it cost me $60 in diesel $12 in Gas

I went down the DP chip road, so far Ive found I have great power with the chip on 10
but It'll blow heaps of black smoke, so I backed it off to 7 for towing duties still good
power, then I tried it on 5 but in my case found 7 worked best on my motor ,
You should be able to strip most of the system out IMO
the tank should have a valve to turn gas off and keep things safe.
I cant see any problems arising just take your time. I was going to
fit this D-gas system to mine years ago, but couldn't justify the bang for buck
Chip is fine on the Dis and a re-map seems to have great benefits on the CRD

Thanks for that 3D i was thinking it couldnt be to hard or dangerous to remove the d-gas system my self like you say theres a valve on the tank to turn off the gas flow and will just vent the lines when i crack them .Looks like im going to remove the system next week if the weather is ok as i dont have a shed to work in atm and will be doing it in the driveway ,would like to be able to remove the gas system and install the new exhaust all in a day ?
Good to hear the DP chip works well on the zd30s .
Would still be great to get other peoples opinions and experiances on there chips ,and best places or people to get them from and do you dyno your car before and after

Be wary of where you are with gas venting into the air, things like a pilot light
on a HWS may be enough for some grief
