Sorry Mark, didn’t see your question before now..

A Lokka suits the way I use the Patrol. I don’t do any hard stuff so this will just give me a cost effective way to add a bit of an advantage that might be helpful one day.

It’s easy to fit myself in the shed. I’ve had the axles out before so no surprises there. I’ll just need to be careful with the diff centre weight.

I couldn’t really justify the other options at twice the price, or more, for the amount of time I use the Patrol.

Fair enough mate. Will take some getting used to I would think having the lokka constantly engaged whilst in 4wd.

I’ve read a fair bit about them and it just means you need to change some driving habits slightly. If you don’t take your corners under power, the teeth slip easier to allow the differential action.
If it really gets annoying on long stretches where you can’t really get by with 2WD, you can simply unlock one hub.

Hated by most PF Mate for genuine dangerous reasons but I still carry a couple of High Lifts for work and play on my steel tray utes and chunky steel trailers.
Best can openers ever on wagon body/doors they can be and cheapo ones of old have nearly taken my face clean off skipping a cog
Keep em super clean, CRC handy, and learn their mechanics/flaws prior to operation Brother
Pumpkin/Exhaust jacks kindly educated to me here too a few years back for sand is my first go to these days on the GU wagon

Traded some used tires for such jack type some 10 years ago. Mine is a T-Max. It was a good deal since the tires would eventually get useless and the jack is still around, but I confess I have never had the guts to really use it. It is a cool tool but dangerous as it can be. And it must weight half my weight, that is another factor, LOL.

New 3kw renogy inverter arrived today to replace the previous unit I have that may have acid fume affected control boards from when a Calcium battery shit itself one weekend and filled the cabin with acrid vapour - ol' @MudRunnerTD can attest to the delightful pong and throat tickling coming up that TAF track when @MB ran out of fuel. Big bugger it is too.

Needed anew mower for the block, and after hunting around decided on a Cub Cadet with 60" cut zero turn style, monster beast, handles 500mm grass easily at reasonable speed, cut the required 15m wide fire breaks on the 13ac block in 4 hrs, happy days.
