Had a plumber booked (wifes work colleague) for last week to do our plumbing, he turns up two days late, works for two hours, says he's going to get some lunch and never returned. So I spent three solid days digging 30metres of trenches, just to get some progress happening.

Bugger Mr Mark :-( Seen how much hard yakka trenching you've been doing there mate, top work! Look on the bright side though, at least your better half didn't turn up two days late with a plumber :-)

You should have supplied lunch, you just don't know how to deal with tradesmen.

Thank you Dr PHIL your offer is accepted , actually they've had some changes for the better where she works and she's just said that they're looking at approving all long service claims , if not I suppose I could go by myself .
That empty front seat would hold just enough beer for emergencys so come to think of it nah don't worry about it Phil I'll be right thanks anyway .

A socket on our powerboard has died, so I made a tool to fit the tamper-proof screws and had a look inside. The thing is rated at 2400 watts, 10amps. It has a printed circuit board and the contacts are as you see them! The plug pin slides in at right angles to that slotted contact. The contact doesn't spring back after a hefty plug has been inserted! This thing has no Australian design rules accreditation and I can't remember where I bought it. I am off to the local electrical wholesalers to pick up a few of Aussie approved boards. Gunna turf out the other three boards as I don't trust them at all.

Further to the above: the disassembled switch revealed the contacts were burnt. Bloody hell! This thing has only ever supplied power to the laptop, DVD player or the small tele. The spring/conductor for the switch contacts were smaller in width and thickness than a bobby pin.

Your children are lucky to have a father that cares and loves them, put that at the front of your mind Andy. I remember - a long time ago - my wife went overseas for a holiday and left me with a 1 YO and working fulltime - I found this so demanding, but by comparison with what you are dealing with its not on the scale. For me, again from memory, I simply put my life on hold and attended to the 'now'. I survived and so will you, just very bumpy at the moment. Reach out for support when needed, its a strength not a weakness and you have a support network bigger than you probably know.

You are just going to have to keep re-living the same day until you get it right. (you also need to get Andie MacDowell into bed)
